Recovery Independence Day Conference
05/30/2012
BACK TO NEWS STORIES
Recovery Independence Day will be a forum to share community models and resources among partnering organizations and peers and exchange information about recovery tools and concepts happening throughout the region. Local resident Dr. Fred Frese, as the keynote speaker, will introduce the issues and needs of the region. A panel discussion will allow for further discussion of these subjects among those involved in addressing them and those in need of the services and programs. The panel consists of Thom Craig (Margaret Clark Morgan Foundation), Mary Spada (NAMI Greater Cleveland), Lisa Marie Griffin (OCATS) and James Carney (MHA Medina County).
Thirty organizations from fifteen counties across Northeast Ohio are expected to be exhibiting. Entertainment will be provided by Drew "Smiley" Horn of the Turn-A-Frown-Around Foundation. Finally, there will be a 50/50 raffle and several door prizes of OEC scholarships and over $500 worth of gift certificates. If you or your organization would like to exibit or attend, please call Paul Kuhn at 330-714-7592. Exhibiting and attending is free of charge thanks to a grant from The Ohio Empowerment Coalition.
Recovery Independence Day is July 5, 2012 from 9:00AM to 4:00PM at St. Joseph's Family Center, 610 West Exchange Street, Akron, Ohio. This will be the first of several regional events which OEC is sponsoring in lieu of their annual statewide conference. It is expected that regional events will allow for more persons to gain access to information about available services in their region and across the state. Please join us in this important and exciting opportunity to strengthen the recovery community and further the recovery of many.
