Board of Directors Approves New Purpose Statement

AKRON, OHIO On October 22, 2024, the County of Summit ADM Board’s Board of Directors finalized and approved a new purpose statement for the agency. The approval of the new purpose statement was the culmination of an extensive process that involved funded agencies and partners, community stakeholders, Board members, and staff to ensure that the ADM Board and its work is aligned with the community’s needs.

According to Chrissy Myers, Chair of the ADM Board’s Board of Directors, “To remain impactful, the Board of Directors and the ADM Board need purpose that grows with the challenges ahead. This process ensured that we are prepared for what is next.”

Additionally, the Board of Directors used this process as an opportunity to ensure that its intention aligned with the staff’s interpretation, another layer in providing the best possible response to Summit County’s needs. “This process allowed the Board of Directors to directly engage people who work, live and receive services in Summit County to formulate priorities for our funding and system of care. We also worked to ensure that the Board’s vision is operationalized by staff in a way that meets their intended purpose. I am excited to work alongside my team and with the Board of Directors to continue having a meaningful impact in our community,” said Aimee Wade, Executive Director, County of Summit ADM Board.
