ADM Board Welcomes New Members

The Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health (ADM) Services Board recently welcomed 2 new members to the Board of Directors. Elizabeth A. England, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, of Akron and Twinsburg resident Todd M. Ivan, MD were sworn in by Judge Linda Tucci Teodosio at the December Board meeting.

Ms. England’s appointment by the County Executive, fills an unexpired term which began in July and will run through June 30, 2019. Ms. England is a member of the Society of Human Resources Management with over 25 years as an HR professional and is employed as a Benefits Analyst at the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland. She is currently pursuing a Master of Public Administration at the University of Akron and has a Bachelor of Arts degree from UA in Business and Organizational Communication. She has been an active community volunteer and has served on the Boards of Guardians Advocating Child Safety and Protection (GASP) and the Northeast Ohio Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Related to her appointment, Elizabeth states, “I am passionate about helping people and our community and believe that I can be effective in helping the ADM Board do both. I am looking forward to being an active participant.”
Dr. Todd M. Ivan’s appointment through the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services became effective November 12, 2015 and will run through June 30, 2016. Dr. Ivan graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Case Western Reserve University in 1987 and the CWRU School of Medicine in 1991. He trained in general psychiatry at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation before joining the staff of Portage Path Behavioral Health in 1995. Recruited to teach Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry in the NEOUCOM Psychiatry Residency in October 2000, Dr. Ivan is now the Director of Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry for Summa Health System and is Board-certified in Psychosomatic Medicine by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He has served as President of the Ohio Psychiatric Physicians Association in 2007 and as a member of the Summit County Alcohol Drug and Mental Health Services Board 2002-2010. Dr. Ivan is a Clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry at NEOMED. Dr Ivan’s comments related to his appointment: “With the affordable care act and parity for substance use and mental health disorders, we are witnesses to a unique time in healthcare. I am eager to continue advocacy for clients and their families by serving on the ADM Board.” The ADM Board of Directors is comprised of 14 Summit County resident volunteers who provide leadership in policy formation and fund allocation. They serve as representatives of the Summit County community through appointments made by two appointing authorities.
