Flowers to Serve on ADM Board

The County of Summit Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health (ADM) Services Board welcomed new member Daniel R. Flowers who was sworn in by Barberton Municipal Court Judge Jill Flagg Lanzinger. Mr. Flowers was appointed by Summit County Executive Ilene Shapiro to fill an unexpired term through June 30th, 2017.

The ADM Board of Directors is comprised of 14 Summit County resident volunteers who provide leadership in policy formation and fund allocation. They serve as representatives of the Summit County community through appointments made by two appointing authorities.

An Akron resident, Dan has been the President and CEO of the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank since 2003. He has a BA from the University of Michigan, is a graduate of Leadership Akron Class XXII, and has served on numerous local and national boards including the Ohio Association of Foodbanks, the Feeding America National Affiliate Council, the Better Business Board of Directors, the WKSU Advisory Council and the Development Fund of the Western Reserve.

Mr. Flowers reflects on his appointment, “So many people that I love have been deeply affected by addiction and mental health issues. I am committed to the mission of the ADM Board and will do all I can to connect its work to that of the Foodbank in ways that enhance the collective well-being of our community. I’m all in.”
