The ADM Board works with local organizations designed to provide a variety of substance use and gambling disorder treatment resources to Summit County residents.

At the ADM Board, we support programs ranging from residential treatment and sober housing to medically-assisted treatment and peer support. We recognize that there are many paths to healing and recovery, and we honor each individual’s journey. This list is not exhaustive; however, the information presented here highlights some options for individuals and/or their loved ones who are seeking resources for substance use as well as gambling disorders.

This federal initiative provides real-time crisis support to anyone who may need it. Answered by trained staff here in Summit County, 988 is available 24/7/365.

ADM Board Addiction Helpline

ADM Crisis Center (Detox)

The ADM Crisis Center offers a 24-hour walk-in detox unit for substance use and detoxification services. Operated by Oriana House with funding from the ADM Board, the drop-in center is for adult Summit County residents.

Akron UMADAOP

Akron UMADAOP provides case management, intensive outpatient treatment programs, group counseling, individual counseling, assessments, and after/continuing care services. It uses a holistic approach to substance use with an emphasis on African Americans and other minorities.

ARC Recovery Services

Through a partnership with Community of Christ Church, ARC provides lasting recovery support with a community that celebrates the recovery process. ARC offers recovery housing, intensive outpatient treatment, individual counseling, case management, and peer support.

Catholic Charities Community Services/Summit County

Catholic Charities in Summit County provides substance use and alcohol use disorder treatment and support services, including intensive outpatient counseling, family support, pregnancy/postpartum care, and recovery coach services. Peer support resources are also available.

CHC Addiction Services

From residential treatment to outpatient counseling, CHC offers a variety of treatment options. CHC also offers a women’s recovery program, adult counseling, and MAT.

Coleman Health Services

Coleman uses a combination of interventions to address substance use disorder in adults, including assessment, individual and group counseling, case management, and MAT. Coleman’s addiction program is modular and uses a variety of approaches to meet individual’s needs.

Community Support Services

A Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC), CSS provides comprehensive, coordinated care for those with mental health and substance use disorders, regardless of their ability to pay, place of residence, or age. CSS emphasizes recovery, wellness, trauma-informed care, and physical-behavioral health integration. Programs include art therapy, psychiatry, and older adult services.

Greenleaf Family Center

Greenleaf provides treatment designed to gain insight into addiction issues and to help find healthy ways to treat addiction disorders, offering alcohol and other drug treatment (AoD) outpatient group services, aftercare for those who have completed treatment/recovery programs, and individual counseling.

IBH Addiction Recovery

IBH offers programs for drug and alcohol use disorders, addiction treatment, and recovery services. Services include outpatient programs, residential programs, day treatment, aftercare/REACH program, and recovery housing.

Oriana House

Oriana House offers programs that include personalized treatment plans to address substance use disorder and mental wellness, programs that offer an alternative to jail/prison providing substance use treatment, and services designed to support those involved in the criminal justice system as they reintegrate into the community. Oriana House also hosts the ADM Crisis Center (detox), which is a 24/7 walk-in service.

Portage Path Behavioral Health

Portage Path Behavioral Health provides support groups, which are available to the public, including Alcoholics Anonymous and Dual Recovery Anonymous. Additionally, Portage Path offers case management, MAT, and outpatient substance use disorder treatment.

Summit Psychological Associates

The New Foundation Program is designed to help people address substance use disorders through two different formats–a 26-week format and a 6-week format for those with less intensive needs. Individuals are often required to participate by the court system.

Recovery Community Organizations (RCOs)

A recovery community organization (RCO) is led by local recovery community members, and activities are available to all community members and not restricted to those enrolled in a specific program. These non-profit organizations reflect the communities they serve.

Recovery Housing

Recovery Housing offers housing for individuals recovering from substance use disorder and provides an alcohol and drug-free living environment, peer support, assistance with obtaining substance use disorder services, and other substance use disorder recovery assistance.
The ADM Addiction Helpline (330-940-1133) staff can help coordinate placement in ADM Board-funded recovery housing programs in collaboration with providers and community agencies to determine the best fit for an individual’s needs.

Problem Gambling Resources

According to the Ohio Problem Gambling Services Bureau, individuals with a gambling problem get the same effect from gambling as someone else might get from taking a drug or having a drink. Anyone who gambles can develop problems if they are not aware of the risks and do not gamble responsibly.
