Summit ADM Board and Change Direction Host Seminar on September 20
Change Direction Summit County and the County of Summit ADM Board are hosting a free seminar for faith leaders entitled Trauma: What is it? – The Role of the Faith Community. Faith leaders and church representatives are encouraged to attend to learn more about the role the faith community can play in helping people who have experienced trauma in their lives. The seminar will be held September 20th from 7:30am-11:30am at the Summit County Public Health Auditorium at 1867 W,. Market St., Akron (behind Acme). Speakers Dr. Vickie Person (Akron Urban League) and Dr. Tania Lodge (Minority Behavioral Health) will talk about Defining Trauma and Self Care. There will also be a panel including Alicia Ley (Rahab Ministries), Pastor Nanette Pitt (First Congregational Church of Akron), Pastor Haroldo Nunes (Open Arms Ministry) and Reverend Larry McCulloh (World Fellowship Interdenominational Church).
