Behavioral health is health

The County of Summit Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services Board is recognizing behavioral health frontline workers during a week of appreciation, September 21-25. The ADM Board encourages all citizens of Summit County to find a way to show gratitude to those that work in the behavioral health, medical, social work and counseling fields during this week. During the pandemic the ADM system of care, along with many other organizations serving those with mental illness and substance use disorders, never closed.

Residential treatment, group and recovery homes, outpatient programming, medication management, emergency/crisis centers and other key services for our community were open and available, even during times when the world felt shut down. “These services and the people providing them are essential to the health and well being of so many of our fellow citizens in Summit County. We would be remiss if we did not stop for a moment and thank them for the incredible response they provided during the early and uncertain stages of COVID-19, and continue to provide today. Their willingness to put their patients first and to be responsive to their essential needs is a testament to the commitment our frontline behavioral health professionals and agencies embody every day,” commented Jerry Craig, executive director of the County of Summit ADM Board.
