13th Annual Recovery Challenge 5K and 1 Mile Walk
May 28, 2026
The County of Summit Alcohol, Drug Addiction & Mental Health Services (ADM) Board announced the 13th Annual Recovery Challenge 5K and 1-Mile Family Fun Walk will take place June 6, 2026, at IBH Addiction Recovery (located at 3445 S. Main St., Akron).
The Recovery Challenge 5k course crosses IBH Addiction Recovery’s 86-acre campus in southern Summit County, featuring fun obstacles, such as a tire course and slip and slide. Runners get started at 9:05 am, while a 1-mile Family Fun Walk begins shortly after.
This year’s walk also offers yoga from Release Yoga, a drum circle from The Summit Wellness, face painting, refreshments, touch a truck options, and vendors from around the county. This event is family-friendly and open to the public. Media support is provided by The Summit FM.
The event benefits the Summit County ADM Support Committee, which operates levy campaigns on behalf of the ADM Board. Levy funding provided by county voters ensures continued financial support of the Board’s network of provider agencies that offer mental health and addiction recovery services to tens of thousands of county residents each year.
